9/22/17 - Medical Facility Lease Approved
At its September 18th meeting, the Franklin County Board of Commissioners voted to enter into a lease agreement with DukeLifePoint (DLP) Maria Parham Medical Center to establish an Emergency Department and a 13-bed Behavioral Unit at the facility formerly known as the Franklin County Medical Center.

At its September 18th meeting, the Franklin County Board of Commissioners voted to enter into a lease agreement with DukeLifePoint (DLP) Maria Parham Medical Center to establish an Emergency Department and a 13-bed Behavioral Unit at the facility formerly known as the Franklin County Medical Center.
- This action promises to restore much needed medical services to the citizens of Franklin County and neighboring counties to the northeast
- Full Emergency Department with outpatient, imaging, and lab services could open mid- to late 2018
- 13-bed geriatric psych unit would follow in late 2018
